TEKLA EVELINA SEVERIN

Exhibition design, curation and styling of 250 sqm empty space at the entrance of Stockholmsmässan, for FORMEX interior fair 17-20 January 2023 on the theme of the fair “Colour Vibes”.

The brief was to pick and curate 200 products from 400 exhibitiors from different categories; like garden, kids, bed linnen etc. The limitation was to close one 25 meters facade , to have a total height on maximum 3 meters and to have a “cafe part” integrated.

Then creative freedom.

The inspiration behind the plan layout was a labyrinth, hide and seek games and a rubrick´s cube. The 4 houses and 2 open spaces are placed zigzag to each other to create forever changing new perspectives and framings, and colour dimensions when moving through the space.

The vision for the design and atmosphere were to balance between surrealism and realism. Were 2D geometrical graphics and 3D realistic interiors with ´real` room functions correlated with the categories of FORMEX´s exhibitors met.

The style is very eclectic inspired by the diversity of the exhibitors, their objects and products. Especially it’s a style flirt with Memphis design and art deco.

Exhibition Design: 28 SQM booth area at Stockholm Furniture Fair 2025

The spatial idea was to create a pavilion, to experience both in a distance and from inside, holding a cinematic walk through, featuring as many layers of textures, finishes and colours as possible, to showcase the wild range and flexibility of Slalom´s acoustics.

Exhibition Design:
240 sqm booth area at Stockholm Design Week 2025

The inspiration behind the concept DECO and it´s spatial layout come from the furniture news from Johanson this year; Garbo easy chair and Grace chair - both designed by Alexander Lervik, as an homage to the Art Deco of the 1920´s/1930´s.

The pillars, made of acoustic panels (from the collection Circuit designed by Johan Lindstén) is the foundation, structurally and conceptually, where they appear as a comment to the 1930´s time typical graphical patterns and ornaments.

The time references is an eclectic mix between art deco, the later streamline moderne style and also the the 1960`s which includes the classic series, the heart of Johanson in the heart of the stand, the bar.

The black outlines serves both as framing for the concept but is also an emphasis of Färg and Blanche´s iconic sketch sofa

for Slalom Acoustic
at Salone del Mobile 2026:
-Exhibition Concept and Design, CMF Design:
A 74 sqm layered exhibition design exploring the space between acoustics, architecture, perception, and atmosphere. Developed from Slalom’s new formats, textures, and square-based forms, the project introduced a soft cubist language through fragmentation, rhythm, overlapping planes, depth, and shifting viewpoints.

The installation investigated the tension between two-dimensional surfaces and three-dimensional space; where structure could read as image, and flat acoustic panels could suggest volume, movement, and illusion. Rather than presenting Slalom as a collection of individual products,
Soft Cubism framed the brand as a complete architectural language of structure, softness, texture, and colour.

The project included custom-designed pieces, a new Arlecchino relief pattern, and a new CMF development of 27 colours across four material qualities, expanding Slalom’s bold chromatic world with softer, more grounded tone-on-tone nuances for architectural settings. The result was a spatial experience that balanced strict geometry with tactility and acoustic softness - precise, sensory, architectural, and gently playful.

Exhibition-, Interior design, and styling for Johanson Design showroom at Blekingegatan 22 for Stockholm Design Week, Feb 2024.
(An exhibition in two parts where the other part was taking place at the Stockholm Furniture Fair, Älvsjö)

The theme SOLARIS with the circle as shape , movement, plan layout and stylized as a symbol of the sun, was all interpreted from the brief, vision and work of Johanson Design with sustainability and circularity throughout the full design process.

The history of the showroom as an old theatre also inspired to create a clear dramaturgy, all the way from the entrance into the end wall of the exhibition as well as to the draped rooms made of curtains, as different stages.

The colour scheme were developed from the aim
to create a warm, welcoming and joyful atmosphere from the entrance into the big room, in a before big and total white and grey space (like a white canvas), as well as display “as many palettes as possible” to showcase the flexibility of Johanson design, that offers 200 RAL colours as standard for all their furniture

CMF design: Picnic Outdoor Recycled Outdoor Weaves

Crafted from 100% recycled polypropylene sourced from pre-consumer waste, this fibre uses no water during production and has a 40% lower carbon footprint compared to virgin polypropylene yarn. Reflective of modern outdoor living, the four designs, PICNIC, SUNNY, BASKET and UNWIND are aptly named after the quintessential elements of a picnic, a blue sky, a basket of delicacies, and a perfect spot to unwind in the sun. The palette is everything you would expect from Teklan and more, fresh lilacs are paired with zesty yellows, rich greens with bright blues and deep reds with tangerine orange. Innovative, distinctive and bold, this palette encourages experimentation and guarantees a contemporary outdoor setting.

Each design has all the attributes expected of an outdoor quality including good colour fastness to light, chlorine and salt water, as well as being water, oil, soil and mould resistant and breathable.

The PICNIC collection is Oeko-Tex certified meaning the fabric is free from harmful chemicals.

for Johanson Design at Salone del Mobile 2026:
-Exhibition Concept and Design:
A 190 SQM spatial design exploring futurism as a softer and more human movement forward - where design heritage is refined, shifted and carried into the future through material presence, precision and emotion.

At the centre of the spatial idea is the curve, drawn from Färg & Blanche’s new seating piece Split and translated into a series of generous, enclosing elements. Lifted out of the object and into the architecture of the stand, the curve becomes both structure and atmosphere - framing the collection, creating rhythm, flow and a quiet sense of movement through the space.

In its rounded language, the stand carries subtle associations to aerodynamics, space age silhouettes and streamlined forms, while questioning what futurism means today. Rather than holding future as purely technological, the concept shifts it towards something more tactile, grounded and emotionally present.

Johanson’s updated chair classic Iris, by Alexander Lervik forms the conceptual core: a reflection on how established design can be renewed, refined and carried forward without losing its origin.

The palette balances between neo pistachio softly stoned texture, reflecting stainless steel, olive and burgundy with lighter notes of pale yellow and sky blue. Together with contrasts between glossy and matte, raw and refined, robust and light, the exhibition creates the vision of a tactile future vision.

Tile design, pattern design and interior design for the launch of the third edition to the FÄRGBLOCK tile collection collaboration x Quintessenza ceramiche at Cersaie, Bologna 2024 - The Cirkel (Swedish spelling of Circle) in and out for even more geometrical pattern possibilities.

The Cirkel decoration, is taking inspiration from the sun disappearing at sunset, as well as the half moon appearance and applying it to the entire Färgblock palette

The new collection called färgblock -meaning colour block- a 5x15 cm tile with gloss finish in 13 colours, is a collection collaboration with Italian Quintessenza and its founder: Ramona Macchi.

The collection -as well as the design of the space- is developed with purpose to inspire for playfulness and more versatility in everyday life and spaces.

Design/CMF design:
A collaboration exploring how colour, form and pattern can transform home electronics from purely functional objects into expressive and natural parts of the home.

The project spans colour, pattern and product design across a wide-ranging collection of speakers, lighting and everyday electronic accessories. Unexpected colour combinations, graphic rhythms and playful references introduce softness, character and emotional presence into a product category often defined by neutral and technical expressions.

The collection includes three SOLSKYDD Bluetooth speakers, two KULGLASS speaker lamps — featuring a newly designed shade combining light and sound — a mouth-blown spotted interpretation of the classic FADO table lamp, two new colourways of the VAPPEBY portable speaker, remote controls, and fourteen braided charging cables across the SITTBRUNN, RUNDHULT and LILLHULT families.

A second collaboration with LAYERED, exploring the meeting point between two- and three-dimensional perception through colour, geometry and textile.

Building on the first collection, the project moves further into spatiality, framing and optical illusion. Architectural references are translated into tactile compositions, where borders become physical forms and the rugs interact with the room rather than simply occupying its floor. The collection draws inspiration from floor friezes, tiled surfaces, mid-century Italian interiors and the labyrinth understood as a sequence of rooms.

The collection consists of six hand-tufted rugs in 100% wool, developed across three designs and two colourways: DIAGONAL, LABYRINTH and FREGIO. Together, they explore rhythm, depth and perspective through bold yet carefully balanced combinations of colour and form.

The theme SOLARIS with the circle as shape , movement, plan layout and stylized as a symbol of the sun, was all interpreted from the brief, vision and work of Johanson Design with sustainability and circularity throughout the full design process.

The colour scheme were developed from the aim to create a grounded, earthy, warm and timeless holistic atmosphere, inspired by nature itself, with many shades of “terra” , sky, sea and rays of sunlight - in contrast to the surroundings of a traditional fair, where the main scene was the “mushroom forest” featuring the CHAMP stool and side table from Böttcher & Kayse under a red sun.

The aim was also to showcase the flexibility of Johanson design, that offers 200 RAL colours as standard for all their furniture.

The Pani Jurek´s C4 lighting fixture is a part of TRN collection. Three dimensional objects inspired by Tarasin painting , having a simple calligraphic form so they can play and talk tighter as if they were letters from a non-existing alphabet.
The handcrafted process of glazing ceramics gives the collection a truly unique character. It’s finished with brass elements.
